How much does a pergola cost in Dallas?

Most custom pergola builds in DFW range from $6,500–$24,000+ depending on size, material, and whether a polycarbonate cover is added. We give you exact pricing after measuring on-site.

Do pergolas need a permit in DFW?

Freestanding pergolas under a certain size typically don't require permits in most DFW cities. Attached pergolas (connected to the house) usually do. We handle the permitting process for you.

Open-beam vs. covered — what's the difference?

Open-beam pergolas provide partial shade and airflow with exposed rafters. Covered pergolas add polycarbonate roof panels that block rain and UV while maintaining natural light. Covered builds are more functional for year-round Texas use.

Can you add a pergola to an existing deck?

Yes. We build pergolas over existing decks. We assess the deck's framing and surface first to confirm it can handle the structural load.

How long does a pergola build take?

Most residential pergola projects are completed in 2–4 days. Complex covered builds or deck+pergola combos may take up to a week.
